Growing up in Eastern North Carolina, BBQ was a whole hog, picked apart on the cooker with a vinegar-hot pepper sauce. After moving to the Charlotte area, my eyes were opened up to a whole new world of Que! The vinegar was still in the sauce, but the tomato base gave it a whole different twist.
I started smoking a Butt with a cheap little smoker and I was hooked. I began upgrading cookers and after a half dozen different units, I scored a Lang and haven't look back.
I try to cook as much as possible, whether it is at home or at a competition.
